Therapy Skills Training

Therapy Skills Training

India is the world’s most depressed nation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India’s depression levels are as high as 36 per cent and shockingly this number is the highest in the world. What makes this even more alarming is the fact that WHO projects depression to be the second leading cause of disability worldwide by 2020.

Currently, we have only 3,500 psychiatrists for the 20 million Indians suffering from mental illness. This means that there is one psychiatrist for more than ten thousand people. Also.in India number of Psychologists working in the mental health sector is 1 for over 2 million and training of Psychologists in educational institutions is 1 out of 100 thousand.

The situation is alarming, and we need to take immediate action. With every 1 in 7 people suffering from Depression (WHO in 2011), to 1 in every 5, by 2015, we may reach a state of epidemic soon, as afar as Mental Health issues are concerned.

We take pride in our initiative in providing quality education to Psychologists and Psychology Practitioners.
